1. Great Smoky Mountain Wheel
One of the first things you’ll see at The Island in Pigeon Forge is The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel. The ride is over 200 feet tall, making it one of the tallest attractions in the Southeast. Riders travel all the way to the top in all-glass gondolas which can seat up to 8 people. Look out and see breathtaking views of Pigeon Forge’s crown jewel: the Great Smoky Mountains.
2. The Escape Game
One indoor activity at The Island in Pigeon Forge is The Escape Game. You and a team of up to 8 players are in a race against the clock as you work together to escape a room by solving puzzles and finding clues! There are 5 unique stories to choose from, and each room is decorated to fit its respective theme. For example, in Classified, your team is a group of military personnel trying to uncover a secret plot. In Mission: Mars, you are astronauts who have to fix a broken spacecraft in order to get home to Earth. No matter what story you choose, everyone must work together to achieve a common goal. This makes it a great team building activity for your travel group.
3. SkyFly: Soar America
At SkyFly: Soar America, discover what it’s like to be a bird as you “fly” over some of the country’s most beautiful landmarks. Visitors sit with their feet dangling in front of a 50-foot spherical screen. Some of the places you’ll “visit” include the Florida Everglades and Niagara Falls in New York. You can even see some popular destinations in Tennessee, including the Great Smoky Mountains and Bristol Motor Speedway. This immersive film is combined with special effects, such as wind, mist, and scents.
4. Alcatraz East Crime Museum
The Alcatraz East Crime Museum is a unique museum in Pigeon Forge. It is named after the famous military fort and maximum security prison in California. Inside, visitors can explore interactive exhibits and learn about different aspects of the history of crime in the United States. For example, see how crime has evolved with the advancement of technology as you practice your shooting skills in the Wild West and then attempt to hack into a website. Along with the interactive activities, the Alcatraz East Crime Museum also has some interesting artifacts, including vehicles driven by infamous criminals such as Ted Bundy.
